On March 2, 2011, Apple Corporation announced to the world the newest iPad – Ipad 2. And it was not just Apple-istas lining up to buy them. Easier to use than a computer (be it a desktop computer or laptop system), tablets – like the iPad 2 – also offer great portability. With wi-fi internet access pretty much everywhere (at least in urban and suburban America), tablets can be used on-the-go. Prices are also within the consumer’s reach. For under $600, the public can purchase a stylish must-have computer that can be slipped into a purse or even a folder. The iPad 2 has the additional advantage of a huge catalog of popular “apps”. Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore is quoted as saying: “We believe the combination of its robust ecosystem, massive App catalog, broad carrier support, industry-leading hardware performance and its price-performance advantage creates an unmatched value for consumers in this segment.”
