Auto Accessories & Mass Produced Individuality

People love to personalize their automobiles. Just get out and take a drive on the highways and have a look at the other cars. (For your own safety and the peace of mind of other commuters try and do this from the passenger seat.) It shouldn’t take long to begin spotting cars whose owners have altered the car’s exterior so that it
more reflects their identity.

It’s Time to Consider the Newsletter

business quoteIn the modern era the company office circular is more often a source of facetious humor rather than a useful provider of information. The same can be said for paper newsletters with it’s waste of paper and length of time in terms of production as well as delivery. But in this day and age where everyone has a Firefox tab of their e-mail open 24/7 the electronic newsletter has become a popular and rather useful form of advertising and information sharing. Not to mention the lack of expense for producing a mass newsletter online verses having to spend money on paper, ink, and postage for a regular snail-mail newsletter. Besides that an e-newsletter has the power to reach a far larger number of people immediately with little hassle for you.

It’s Not A Great Time for Selling Drop Side Cribs

Drop-side cribs have been popular for a long time due to the ease of access for parents. With a quick snap of a latch you can let your infant or toddler roam freely. Recently, however, it has come to the attention of The Consumer Products Safety Commission that drop-side cribs are a major safety hazard and multiple recalls have been occurring since 2009.

Convenience Store Owners; We Salute You!

Superbowl Sunday is upon us. And while the masses will be lauding the prowess of our grid iron idols, I want to flick my lighter to the unsung hero of the hour – the Convenience Store Owner. If last year is any indication, over 100 million people will be watching the Super Bowl. Many will travel close by to a friend, neighbor or relatives home …. and they will forget that they were supposed to bring the beer until they spot the local convenient store. They will probably pick up more than just a 12 pack. Chances are they will buy cigarettes, snacks, drinks, and a lotto ticket. And the clerk will have you in and out of there in under 10 minutes (unless everyone else in your neighborhood forgot the beer).

There Might be More Money in Fixing Xboxes Than Selling Them

Most people are aware of the old adage that the way to make money is to sell people something that they cannot keep. In many situations this is doubtlessly true. Consumers will, without thinking, buy several new things in spite of the fact that with a little care these things could be easily kept for a longer amount of time. But here’s an idea for electronic retailers that somewhat flies in the face of this idea: offering repair services for video game systems. Any electronic store owner or employee is aware of the all too common and infamous “Red Ring of Death” that seemingly every XBOX 360 eventually falls victim to. The Day Customer Service DIED.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 5 years you will have noticed many of today’s most mainstream companies have willingly and intentionally killed off customer service. What’s even more bizarre is that they have done so with a giant grin on their face.

Forum Publishing to Celebrate 30th year. Begins Losing Hair.

Press Release

Our good friends at Forum Publishing are having a birthday. Cheers!

In May 2011 Martin Stevens and Forum Publishing Company will celebrate its 30th Anniversary servicing the wholesale/retail industry. The first magazine the company published called Flea Market Forum was launched with 100.00 and crossed fingers, as it would be the first magazine for flea market vendors in the business. With a 100.00 investment for a brochure and mailing, after two months enough funds were raised to print the first edition, which was a local tri-state 24 page newspaper. Martin personally handed out the copies at flea markets throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut by driving them over and walking the aisles.

A Retail Store With No Inventory? It's Like Magic!

The internet age has changed small businesses forever. You can have a store front without a physical shop and manage almost every piece of your business via the internet. Perhaps most interesting of all is the expansion of drop shipping. What is drop shipping? Let’s say you have a store front on eBay to sell clothing but oh no! You have no clothing to sell! Well fear not, noble retailer! You can get with an apparel dropshipper who will handle the product for you.
